HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR WEEKEND

Weekends are the opportunity to regenerate, socialise and self-improvement and if we time everything right we will start the week feeling refreshed and generally happier. I have made a little list with some tips to help you make the most of your not so long 60h weekend 🙂

  • MAKE SOLID PLANS

During the week think what you would like to do over the weekend, you don’t need to plan everything ahead but is always good to have something in mind so you don’t get to Sunday thinking what happened to your weekend.

  • DO YOUR CHORES BEFOREHAND

Leaving chores for the weekend is a normal practice for most of us, but if you try to do it during the week, then, once you get to the weekend you can actually use your free time to rest and do something special.

  • HAVE WEEKEND RITUALS

Use the weekend to treat yourself and do special things you don’t have time during the week. For example have a late morning, cook a breakfast that it is indulging, have a relaxing bath with your favourite essential oils and candles, have a massage or a manicure.

  • GET SPORTY

Exercise! The weekend is perfect for a long exercise session, usually during the week if we exercise is always rushed, so at the weekend give yourself some time to improve your physical condition by doing a full workout. I love to go for a run and then do a yoga class, it makes me feel empowered and full of energy!

  • UNPLUG

Being constantly connected to social media makes you spread your attention thin when you should be making the most off your weekend. Instead, read a book or get active going for a walk in town or in the woods, just do something that will be beneficial for your wellbeing.

  • PLAN SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO

Why do we have Sunday Blues? Well once you do all the exciting things at the weekend then you left with nothing to look forward too during the week, this creates an unhappy feeling. Break this cycle by organising things that you enjoy during the week, like a dinner with friends or going to cinema – maybe even a spa evening after work, anything to break free from feeling another long week ahead!
